About the artist:

Jackie Gethin SBA completed her art foundation course at Southampton

College of Art and then followed this with a three-year Industrial

Ceramics Course at Bournemouth and Poole College of Art.  After a job

in a pottery she became self employed to concentrate on her art and

has been painting flowers, birds and animals ever since.  Jackie is

Honorary Secretary of the Society of Botanical Artists and exhibits

regularly at their annual show at the Methodist Central Hall,

Westminster.  She has completed many commissions for the Medici

Society and always has paintings on display at Francis Iles Gallery in

Rochester.

Jackie also runs a picture framing business from her studio at the

bottom of her garden in North West kent.  She is a great believer in

letting the onlooker fill in the gaps and prefers to paint speedily rather

than painstakingly.
