About the artist:

After obtaining a National Diploma in Art and Design at the Farnham

College of Art, David followed a

career in advertising. He pursued his love of watercolour painting in his

spare time.

In 1978 he met and was helped by the well known artist Edward

Wesson, to whom he feels particularly indebted.  David decided to take

early retirement from a London West End Advertising Agency in 1997.

He then joined M&C Saatchi until finally retiring in July 1999  to devote

more time to his painting.  He was helped and influenced by the Kent

painter Michael Chaplin RWS.  Who encouraged him to exhibit his work

in local galleries.

David appeared in the Channel 4 program Watercolour Challenge with

Hannah Gordon. He was the winner of the Kent region and finished in

the last six of the National finals. David has exhibited in London,

Tonbridge, Canterbury, Rochester, Cranbrook and Headcorn Galleries.

His work is very popular in this country and has also been bought by

collectors in France, Germany,

Canada, the USA and Australia.  David now teaches locally in Iden

Green and Bearsted.
