The idea of Kate Crook (a well known local artist herself) and supported by
Kristina Avery, this event is organised to raise money for the Save the Children
Haiti appeal. Over 80 valuable artworks were generously donated by respected
local artists and all proceeds used by Save the Children for the benefit of the child
victims of the Haiti earthquake. The auction was held on Saturday 13th March and
raised a magnificent £13,840. Details of the lots can be seen by visiting the Lots
page where the winning bids prices will be added soon for selected pieces.
Kate Crook and Kristina Avery send their heartfelt thanks to: the artists who
donated the wonderful artworks; to Raj Bisram for being our charismatic
auctioneer; to those amongst you who bid for and bought the artworks; to Corinne
Corbet-Thompson & Gilli Fryzer and their team of helpers for organising the
delicious tea and cakes; to Lindi Harman, Ruth Saunders and their Save The
Children helpers; to Cranbrook & Sissinghurst Parish Council, Wealden Times,
Stationery Express and Page's Newsagents for their generous support. Thank you
to all of you for helping to make a difference to the children of Haiti through Save
the Children.
